The opportunity to work with people outside of the university classroom is one I find exciting and intriguing.  Whether it is a speaking engagement, a workshop, or one-on-one assistance, I do my best to bring the best of my knowledge and experience to the table for the people I work with.  In every engagement I participate in I want to leave participants with something they can use immediately to be successful in the communication task at hand.  I also, though, want to leave participants with seeds for thought.  There are many solutions to communication tasks and problems, yet the ones that seem to stick in my experience, are the ones that involve more questions than answers; more curiosity than blind action; more thoughtfulness than reaction.  I welcome the opportunity to talk with you to see if your needs are a good fit with my expertise.  Consulting topics have included, but are not limited to:  teacher training and development, play and innovation in education, conflict management, speaking to a public audience, communication across the curriculum, and communication assessment.

Ideal teachers are those who use themselves as bridges over which they invite their students to cross, then having facilitated their crossing, joyfully collapse, encouraging them to create bridges of their own.
